Violent Video Games Not Key to School Violence

While the FBI and the USSS both found that violent media was a common staple of perpetrators of school violence, neither list video games as particularly influential.

In fact, the USSS report finds that only 12% of school shooters were obsessed with video games, compared to 25% with movies, 25% with books, and nearly 40% being obsessed with their own writings, such as poems, diaries, or essays.
