Leadership Capacity Chapt. 2

I wonder what level of participation my school is at. I want Quadrant 4 but we are probably closer to Quadrant 3. Principal and key teachers work together with some use of schoolwide data. The staff is polarized, not by disagreements, but by our individual visions of the purpose of educating. We have some strong innovation and teaching but not as total programs. Student achievement is showing slight improvement.

Skyview has so much potential for Teaming. It is a core value and a dream but we are held back by a general feeling of lack of time, lack of district support. We are held back by our thinking. We see our strength as the time we set aside ourselves to work together. We have the beliefs and the desire and it is my job to figure out how to encourage leadership teams through study groups, UbD, Action Research, vertical learning communities etc... There is a model that outlines the many leadership topics available and defines who will take the major responsibility for each of the areas and who they will consult with and who they will inform. We have so many positive community models and we need leaders to build leadership capacity.
