* engagement and motivation...our lens/focus will be our observations for
engagement and motivation

3. Clear focus...what we know when we see it. Are we looking at kids or
teachers?

4. Determine collection tools.

5. Collect data

6. Consider our filter...what will get in the way of getting good
information (this is the hardest thing...when we are suppose to look at
students turning our attention to the teacher or to another student)


7. Walkthrough, videotape, scripting (secretaries watched the video and
typed all the dialogue)

8. Now what?
