HRM Chap. 3 Summary: Recruitment

The most important influence on school quality is the teachers. The most important principal role is recruiting, supporting and retaining the very best teachers.

We should recruit the best teachers widely, efficiently and legally. Before starting the process, the principal should get feedback from the departing teacher in an exit interview and talk with other teachers in and out of the department.

The book gives sample personnel requisition, position description, announcement, and advertisements. (these are automated system in Northshore but may not be in other districts that I may work)

The case study was about a principal who found a teacher that was a great fit but had a finance who was an accountant who needed a job. Should the principal get involved?
