Seattle Mayor and Superintendent
•"It is telling that days after Nickels hatched his summit plan, he still hadn't picked up the phone to run it past Manhas."
Seattle School District is starting to reorganize which will/may close schools, change "choice" schools and reorganize how the district operates. To do this. the superintendent is making the case that it is the only financial option. In a city school system, newspapers amplify issues and changes. Politicians like Greg Nickels also need to play to the newspapers and public opinion. In this case, the superintendent and mayor haven't even talked. Seems like they need to eat lunch together and talk. I wonder if they do and this is a drama playing out.
